Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a successful new year from Missouri’s flagship university.

—Chancellor and Mrs. Cartwright

[Chancellor Alexander N. Cartwright speaking]

"I can’t believe we are already celebrating the end of another extraordinary year. As I think about the tremendous accomplishments of our Mizzou family and reflect on what makes this university so special, I am constantly amazed at the hard work that our campus community accomplishes daily.

"Our students continue to lead our charge as Missouri’s flagship, land-grant university. Their commitment to service and innovation enhances communities around the world. And it enables us to strengthen our campus so that everyone — regardless of their background or lived experiences — feels like they belong and can succeed here.

"These incredible achievements showcase the dedication of Mizzou’s faculty, staff, students and alumni. They transform our classrooms and maintain the historic beauty of our campus while expanding our resources and reach. They support our tremendous athletics programs and ensure that everything we do here in Columbia has an impact on communities across Missouri and beyond.

"It seems that every day I step out of my Residence on Francis Quadrangle, I am renewed and inspired by our community’s leadership, creativity, commitment to service and — of course — Tiger spirit.

"What an extraordinary year we have had! Thank you all again for your tremendous hard work and support. Melinda and I are so grateful to be part of this remarkable community, and we can’t wait to see what next year brings. Happy holidays! M-I-Z!"
