About Latha Ramchand

Latha Ramchand serves as Dean, C.T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. She has been in this role since 2011, prior to which she served as Associate Dean for five years, managing programs and administration, information technology, budgets and faculty affairs. In the last seven years, Bauer College has grown enrollment which currently stands at 6,498 students, increased retention and graduation rates, raised over $73 million in funds, and established and named three endowed Centers of Excellence. The College has created several new degree and certificate programs and tracks and entered into partnerships with other colleges at the University of Houston, with organizations outside the university, both within the U.S. and abroad. Some of her awards include recognition for research by the Financial Management Association, for teaching through the EMBA Mid Con Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Houston, and for service via the University of Houston Faculty Excellence Proclamation awarded by the Houston City Council in 1995. She has taught at programs offered in the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (where she earned her Ph.D.) at Northwestern University, the Indian School of Business, and the University of Houston. Latha is also a CFA Charter Holder and serves on the National Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Advisory Board, the Center for Financial Planning Board (Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards), the Beta Gamma Sigma Board of Governors, Cadence Bank Advisory board, and on Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Financial Empowerment Advisory Board for the City of Houston.

About the Position

Search Committee

The committee will work to identify candidates for this important leadership role for Mizzou. Joi Moore, Professor and Director of the School of Information Science & Learning Technologies, and Marshall Stewart, Vice Chancellor for Extension and Engagement, will co-chair the committee that will identify candidates and carry out the open search process.

The search will be facilitated by Tim McIntosh and the UM System Executive Search team. Isaacson Miller, a search firm specializing in executive searches, will help identify candidates. The committee will try to complete the search by May 2018 with finalists interviewing on campus in late April/early May 2018 (see full timeline below).
