  1. “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson
This song fits one of my life mottos really well: Change comes from within, and we must start with ourselves.
  2. “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley
To me, this song is about hope, and hope goes a long way.
  3. “Let It Be” by the Beatles
The song reassures us that everything will be okay, even if it doesn’t seem like it at the moment.
  4. “Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie
We are all under pressure all of the time to work harder and to do better. Remember that, and give the people around you some grace.
  5. “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding
This is one of my favorite songs from my childhood!
  6. “Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons
Sometimes – actually, most of the time – you have to roll up your sleeves and put in the work to get something done. It is definitely one of my life mottos… just ask my staff.
  7. “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin
This song is a good reminder that things could always be worse, so enjoy each day. You do not get as much from life if you are not happy.
  8. “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles
To me, this is a song of optimism. We have to believe that we are working to make things better every day. I certainly see a bright future for us here at Mizzou.
  9. “The Man in Black” by Johnny Cash
This is just a great, timeless song. Many of the concerns and issues that Johnny Cash raises are still relevant today.
  10. “Black or White” by Michael Jackson
Love one another, no matter what.
