Dear Mizzou community,
For nearly 180 years, Mizzou has been committed to public service. Our long tradition of honoring our veterans through Memorial Union and Crowder Hall continues to grow through our tremendous ROTC program. Our values also help shape our leaders of today and tomorrow, who ensure that the university’s global impact can be felt across many walks of public life — from military service to civil service to community service.
It’s extraordinary to see our community serving others in so many ways. Thank you all. Your stewardship enables Mizzou to fulfill its broad responsibility to the public good.

A recent study by the Sinclair School of Nursing found that nursing homes equipped with more sophisticated information technologies saw an increase in care. With a greater ability to access medical records and enhanced digital data systems, these nursing homes were able to improve their residents’ quality of life — from decreasing pain levels to reducing infections.
Mizzou’s College of Education has partnered with the UNIMINUTO University System in South America to launch the International Research Center for the Development of Education. Using research that studies the local and global issues these two like-minded educational systems face, the new Center will be able to improve educational leadership and policy in both the U.S. and Colombia.
As a flagship, land-grant university and the only public institution in Missouri to be a member of the Association of American Universities, Mizzou remains committed to its founding principles of education and public service. This year’s Faculty-Alumni Awards honors 14 faculty and alumni who embody these values and exemplify Mizzou’s mission.
