Celebrating Mizzou’s rise in rankings

Dear Mizzou community,

We are excited to share great news about our rankings — so excited, in fact, that we wanted to convey our thanks with a video instead of just sending an email (see the video below).

Mizzou has jumped 15 spots in the 2021 U.S. News & World Report list of top national universities — to No. 124. This climb puts us in the top 33% of the 380 ranked public and private universities. Among public universities, Mizzou rose four spots to No. 60. In addition, Mizzou increased to No. 85 among Best Value Schools, and ranks No. 1 when we compare ourselves to public universities in neighboring states. Other growth measures include moving to No. 86 among Best Colleges for Veterans and record-setting retention and enrollment over the past few years.

Our university is defined by the exceptional talent of our students, faculty and staff. These increases reflect that talent and highlight the impact our community is making in education, research and engagement across campus and around the world.

You constantly push our university in new and bolder directions. And we know, with your continued support, we will rise to even greater heights in the future.

Thank you again. Enjoy the video, and M-I-Z!
