Mizzou community, supporters, and friends,

As the fall semester continues, the University of Missouri is participating in Mid-Missouri Innovation Week. The week provides attendees an opportunity to learn about the latest innovations, entrepreneurial resources and cutting-edge research available at Mizzou and regionally. These activities and specifically the student events had me reflecting on the economic mission of the university and the hands-on learning opportunities we provide for Mizzou students. For example, each year our Student Entrepreneurial Center provides storefront space for three student-owned businesses in the MU Student Center. What’s Poppin’!, Land to Luna, and Black Honey Bee Cosmetics have been selected for 2017-18.

Connor Knabe standing outside his business, Clarity Float SpaThis leads me to this week’s story. I am featuring small business owner and alumnus, Connor Knabe, who is the co-founder of Clarity Float Spa. Connor credits some of his business success to the Trulaske College of Business Entrepreneurial Alliance program and the connections he made through it. I hope you will enjoy Connor’s story of how he became #MizzouMade. If you do, share it by selecting the social media icons under the article, and be sure to include #MizzouMade before you post.

Please continue to submit your #MizzouMade stories to us!

Until next time…M-I-Z!
