9-11 Message
To the MU Campus Community:
This day, across our state, our nation and our University, we pause to remember the precious lives that were lost in our nation’s worst tragedy of aggression on our home soil. Our thoughts and prayers are again for the families of those who perished. For their sake and for that of posterity, let us ensure that the legacy of 9/11 is not that of a nation under siege mentality, but a nation committed to freedom of thought and expression and international goodwill. As the bells in Switzler Hall on Francis Quadrangle and in Memorial Union Tower ring today at 12 noon in memory of those who died on 9/11 and in honor of their families, let all of us renew our commitment to this noble legacy.
Brady J. Deaton
Chancellor
