President Forsee and Chancellor Deaton host campus forums on budget crisis

UM System President Gary Forsee and I invite you to an open forum on Friday, Feb. 20, at 9 a.m. in Jesse Hall Auditorium. We will discuss the current economic crisis, its potential effect on the university, and actions being taken to assure the future stability and success of MU and the UM System. We will welcome questions from the audience; the session will conclude by 11 a.m. Supervisors are encouraged to provide opportunities for staff to attend. The forum proceedings also will be available via Web cast at http://www.umsystem.edu/.

In addition, UM System Vice President for Human Resources Betsy Rodriguez will lead a general information session for faculty and staff Wednesday, March 4, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in Monsanto Auditorium of the Bond Life Sciences Center. She will answer questions after a short presentation on the following recent actions by the Board of Curators: transition assistance, overtime for hourly employees, changes to the retirement plan and furloughs. The live Web cast of the presentations will be available at http://www.more.net/services/videostreaming/events.html.
